Over 100 Participants Attend Inaugural Triad Software Developers Conference

Winston-Salem, NC—February 24, 2015—The first annual Triad Software Developers Conference took place at Flywheel, located in Winston-Salem, NC in the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter on Saturday, February 21, 2015. The event was organized by Small Footprint, Flywheel, Inmar and ettain.

More than 100 software professionals attended the event, along with 22 presenters and panelists. Robbie Allen, co-founder of Automated Insights, delivered the keynote presentation in which he stated that now is the best time in history to be a software professional because of how quickly new developments are taking place. “If software is taking over the world,” Allen said, “then software developers must be the masters of the universe.”

Other highlights included a panel discussion titled “Technology Needs in the Triad” in which panelists discussed how to overcome challenges facing software professionals in the region, as well as a “Women in Technology” panel about the unique challenges women face in the software industry and the importance of mentorship.

Each year, the Triad Software Developers Conference will aim to provide opportunities for software professionals to share knowledge, to learn new technologies and techniques and to network with others in the field. Each event is intended to help software professionals improve their skills, inform people about the industry and ultimately develop a more prominent community of software professionals that can attract more high-technology jobs to the region.
